Today I’m excited to share my discussion with Kelly Madden on the topic of Biblical symbolism and how it relates to dreams
Kelly Madden is the author of the free Substack newsletter “Seeing the Keystone: Notes on Symbolism in the Bible.” Each day he posts a brief explanation of one symbol from one chapter of the Old Testament. Kelly is the Founder and Executive Director of the Boston Fellows program, a faith-and-work organization that equips young professionals to serve God and neighbor in the working world.
He is also an ordained Anglican clergyman, with a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a PhD in Political Theory from the University of York, England. Having worked in 45 countries on 5 continents, he and his wife, Heather, now live in Boston.

· Be present, O merciful God, and protect us through the hours of this night, so that we who are wearied by the changes and chances of this life may rest in your eternal changelessness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
· Visit this place, O Lord, and drive far from it all snares of the enemy; let your holy angels dwell with us to preserve us in peace; and let your blessing be upon us always; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
· Lighten our darkness, we beseech you, O Lord; and by your great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of this night; for the love of your only Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
· Look down, O Lord, from your heavenly throne, illumine this night with your celestial brightness, and from the children of light banish the deeds of darkness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
